BREAKING: University of Georgia’s Mascot "UGA" Kidnapped by Georgia Tech Student Following 8th Overtime Thriller

Atlanta, GA — In a shocking turn of events, the University of Georgia’s beloved football mascot, UGA, was reportedly kidnapped by a student from rival school Georgia Tech after the Jacket's gut-wrenching 44-42 Octuple OT loss to the Bulldogs on Friday. The incident occurred shortly after the final whistle, as GT's players and staff began to leave Bobby Dodd Stadium following the heartbreaking loss to their in-state rivals. Sources confirm that a Georgia Tech student, believed to be part of the school’s spirited fan base, rushed the field with other fans and amidst the chaos took "UGA" from his custom crate on the Georgia sidelines.

Shocked onlookers reported seeing the student shouting taunts and waving the UGA mascot's leash triumphantly as they disappeared into the sea of Georgia Tech supporters. “It was like something out of a bad movie,” said one witness. “I couldn’t believe it. Who does something like that? It’s just a game.” The news quickly spread on social media, with Georgia fans expressing outrage and confusion. “This is crossing a line. UGA is a symbol of Georgia pride. You don’t just take someone’s mascot like that,” tweeted one UGA alum. Another fan posted, “This is what happens when a rivalry goes way too far. We want our dog back!”

In a post-game interview, UGA’s athletic director, Josh Brooks, made a public plea for the immediate and safe return of the mascot. “UGA is not just a mascot, he’s a cherished member of the University of Georgia family. His well-being is our top priority, and we are working closely with local law enforcement and the Georgia Tech administration to resolve this matter swiftly,” Brooks said. “We expect UGA to be returned without further incident.”

Authorities have yet to provide details on the investigation, but sources confirm that Georgia Tech’s campus has been placed on alert as UGA’s handlers and local police try to track down the missing mascot.

“We take this very seriously,” said Captain Alan Morris of the Atlanta Police Department. “Kidnapping a mascot is no laughing matter. We are actively following all leads to ensure UGA is returned safely and that those responsible are held accountable.”

In the meantime, Georgia Tech students have taken to social media with a mix of playful celebration and defiance. One post shared a picture of UGA, still in his crate, wearing a Georgia Tech cap with the caption, “He’s ours now!” Another photo showed the student posing with the mascot in front of the Georgia Tech library, alongside the message, “You snooze, you lose. #TechTakesAll."

“We’re just having a little fun,” said one Georgia Tech student, who declined to give their name. “It’s all in good rivalry spirit. Besides, we’re holding UGA hostage until they learn how to lose a game.”

Despite the lighthearted tone from Georgia Tech students, UGA’s supporters are furious, with many organizing peaceful protests outside Georgia Tech’s campus in demand for the mascot’s immediate release. Fans are calling for an end to the rivalry antics, while some are even offering a reward for UGA’s safe return.

“This is a new low,” said Georgia fan Doug Harris, who was among the protesters. “Taking UGA is one thing, but making a joke out of it is something else. We want him back, and we want him back now.”

As the search for UGA continues, both Georgia and Georgia Tech fans are left in suspense, wondering when, and how, the legendary mascot will return to its rightful home. Fans of the Bulldogs are anxiously awaiting a resolution, hoping that UGA’s abduction will not become the next chapter in the bitter rivalry between the two schools.
